Year 11 Science
Students may choose a bridging course of selected Achievement Standards from Level 1 Biology, Chemistry and Physics, or repeat Science Level 1 or choose a non-science subject.
The Advanced Science course is a general science course that provides a more in depth knowledge of the three main branches of science and a very good foundation of understanding required for study at Year 12. This course enables the students to develop a wider extent and depth of understanding of the specialist sciences (physics, chemistry and biology) than is possible in Year 10 Science.
The Standard Science course is a course for those students that did not achieve satisfactory grades in Year 10. It is a continuation of the Level 1 Science NCEA, but with more emphasis on the practical components of the course.
