Electronics

Electronics is the study and design of control, communication and computing devices that rely on electricity in circuits that contain different components.
This Level 2 course is for people who want to understand more about electronics, including how to construct electronic circuits. It introduces electrical and electronic components and systems.
The student will develop core skills in soldering and circuit construction and electrical and electronics theory (US 18239. 18240 and 18241). Students will need to have good mathematics skills as completing calculations is a core requirement of the course.
An essential part of this course is the designing and making of useful electronic products (US 18243) this includes the making of printed circuit boards (US 18242).
A student must achieve all the unit standards to obtain the National Certificate in Electronics Technology (NCET) Level 2. Students that achieve Unit Standards 18240, 18242 and 18243 are eligible for the ETITO Certificate of Attainment (ECOA).

The Level 3 course is a continuation of the Level 2 course but involves a more in depth look into the electronic components and making more sophisticated electronic products.
